Welcome to our web site!
The Brymbo area encompasses, amongst others, the
neighbouring communities of Tan-y-Fron, Vron, Ffrith, Ffrwd, Moss,
Southsea, Bwlchgwyn and Pentre Broughton. This whole area is steeped
in industrial history, from the coal mines of four hundred years
ago to John Wilkinson's
ironworks which eventually developed into Brymbo Steelworks. We
hope that the web site will become a valuable resource and provide
information about the people, industry, heritage and culture of
the Brymbo area. If you are interested in Brymbo's history then
please visit our heritage
section!
We have lots of information to put on this site,
but there had to be a cutoff point at which we could launch ourselves.
We hope that the content of this site will develop quickly, so please
bookmark us and come back soon.
One of our most exciting projects at the moment
is to catalogue and document our vast photograph collection. This
collection comprises thousands of photographs taken over the last
100 years. We will be publishing all of these photos in the coming
months and would welcome your comments.
The Brymbo Heritage Group meets at least once
a month, usually in the Sports and Social club or in the Brymbo
Conservative club. Details of our meetings are listed on our news
page. If you are interested in joining us then please come along!
If you have any questions
or any information that you would like to share or if you have any
requests or suggestions for additions to the site then please let
us know by going to the contact
us page.
Finally- we have added a section
where you can ask questions (or perhaps provide answers!). If you
can help us with our questions or have questions of your own then
please contact us by going to the contact
us page.
Thanks for paying us a visit!
