Top Brymbo Pool was once a natural lake of three acres. It was enlarged to a five acre reservoir 1892, and again enlarged to eight acres in 1958. Its purpose was to provide a constant source of water for the Steel Plant. Supply of water to the reservoir was from the River Cegidog at Ffrith where a purpose made pump house had been operational since 1910.
At nearby Wrexham Museum there are the remains of the 3500 year old Brymbo Beaker Man, discovered 1957 when the housing estate of Cheshire View was being built. The Garden of Remembrance, located off High Street in the centre of the village proudly bears the names of Brymbo men lost in action from two World Wars.
